Maybe I should try what this big slots winner did. Maybe I could win a quarter million too! Lol

A French slots player named Gilles R. recently won a staggering $260,000 over two lucky days. He was playing at Grande Vegas Casino and he said he was playing mostly the Triple Twister slots game. Apparently he had a lot of lucky spins during the game’s bonus rounds and he also hit several Major and Minor random jackpots ranging from $1000 to $5000 each.

“I won a lot of this cash in bonus rounds, on free spins!” remarked Gilles. “I just kept getting Weather Vane symbols that kept triggering more and more free games. It was incredible!”

He quit when he reached $260K and started thinking about what he could do with all that money!

Of course, like most of us, he’d thought lots about what he’d do if he ever won big. Gilles has always dreamed of going to Machu Picchu in Peru. He even had a photo of the famous Inca monument taped to his computer monitor for inspiration!

You may laugh, but it worked, didn’t it?! So let’s see, what picture should I stick to my computer? As winter gets colder and darker, I think maybe a tropical beach somewhere. A tropical beach with a laptop and internet access for my casino games, that is!

Good luck!

Asian Stud is new table game currently found only in the Seattle area casinos. The owners of the game employed my services to analyze the game. It is with their permission that I indicate the following results of my analysis.

The game is played with a single deck of cards. The deck consists of the standard 52 cards plus one joker.

All cards are valued as in baccarat: aces are 1 point, 2 through 9 have face value, and tens and face cards are worth 10. The joker is also 1 point. For purposes of the bonus bet, which is explained later, different rules apply.

Play begins with the players making an ante wager subject to table limits.

The dealer shall deal each player and himself five cards. All cards should be dealt face down. Players may examine their own cards but sharing information should be discouraged.

After examining his cards the player has the option to either raise or fold. If the player decides to raise then he must place an additional wager equal to his original wager in a designated area of the table. If the player decides to fold he must forfeit both his cards and his original wager.

Each remaining player should then separate his five cards into a three-card hand and a two-card hand.

To have a qualifying hand the player must have a total of 10, 20, or 30 points in the 3-card hand. If the player can not form a qualifying 3-card hand then his 2-card hand shall not matter and his only chance to win is if the dealer does not qualify.

If the 3-card hand qualifies then the value of the 2-card 789Bet hand shall be based on the total points of the two cards. The highest possible 2-card hand is a point total of 10 or 20, and shall have a value of 10. Otherwise the value of the 2-card hand is the terminal digit in the total number of points (as in baccarat). For example a 6 and 9 would have total point of 15, and a value of 5.

After the players have set their hands the dealer shall arrange his cards into a 3-card hand and 2-card hand in the same manner as the players. The dealer must try to qualify with a 10, 20, or 30 point total in the 3-card hand. If the dealer does qualify his 2-card hand shall be valued in the same manner as the player’s 2-card hand.

If the dealer’s 3-card hand does not qualify then all players who did not fold shall win even money on the ante, less a possible 5% commission, and the raise shall push.

If the player’s 3-card hand does not qualify and the dealer’s does then the player shall lose both ante and raise.

If both the player’s and dealer’s 3-card hands qualify then the value of the two-card hands shall determine the winner. If the dealer’s two-card hand outscores the player’s then the player shall lose both ante and raise. In the event of a tie both ante and raise shall push. If the player’s two-card hand outscores the dealer’s then the player shall win even money on the ante and the raise shall pay according to the difference in the point values as follows:

1 – 3 points: 1 to 1

4 – 6 points: 2 to 1

7 – 9 points: 3 to 1

Winnings are also subject to a possible 5% commission, depending on the specific house rules. For example if the player’s two-card hand has 7 points and the dealer’s has 2 points then the player outscores the dealer by 5 points and the raise shall pay 2 to 1, less the 5% commission.

A side wager is also available based on the poker value of the combined five-card hand. For purposes of the side wager all cards are valued as in poker. The joker is partially wild and may be used to complete a straight, flush, or straight flush, and is otherwise counted as an ace. Note that this is the same usage as in pai gow poker. The player does not have to pay the 5% commission on side wager winnings. Casino management may choose from among various pay tables for the side wager.

Regardless of the whether the ante, raise, or both are subject to the 5% commission the correct strategy in Asian Stud is to always raise. Even with a non-qualifying hand the expected loss by raising is about 0.99 units, which is less than the one unit loss by folding.

Your Gambling Dollars

The GoneGambling site is designed to make your gambling dollars go much further than you ever believed possible. All you need to do is deposit and play with our sponsoring casinos and then come back to the GoneGambling site to play for GG Point Conversions and Bonus Deposits for the rest of the month! It really doesn’t get any easier than this!

New Members Please Read the Following

Following is a letter that one of our support members sent to a new member who was completely lost on the site. If you read the letter all the way through you will have a far better understanding of how to play the games at GoneGambling.

Cash Salad Slot – When you first sign in to play, it will tell you what your point total was the last time you took a spin, and what your total is at the present time. Sometimes the amount is higher and sometimes it is lower – depending on whether you have won more points since you played, or lost points.

Boom or Bust / Taxes / Insurance – Being taxed is a dreadful thing! :o) When playing Boom or Bust you can win great prizes; lots of GG Points, bonus deposits, onion bets, and GetLucky plays – just to name a few, but you can also be taxed or bankrupted. If you are bankrupted you lose all of your points, including what you have in your bank. If you are taxed, the amount of the tax is deducted from your GG Points total, and if you don’t have enough points to cover your tax, GAIA will put you in the negative. At that point you either have to draw from your bank, if you have points there, or you just have to play Boom or Bust every 30 minutes and the GG Cup Horse Races every 15 minutes to try to build your points total back to the positive to allow you to play the other games.

Until recently, there was no bank and there was no way to protect yourself against taxes or bankrupts. However, you now have the option to take out insurance when you play Boom or Bust. There is a drop-down box next to the Boom or Bust button that says Yes or No. If you decide to take out insurance, each time you play it will cost you 5 GG Points. You can take out insurance even if you are at 0 or below, but it will put you into the negative. It is entirely your choice whether or not to take it – it will not affect the outcome of your Boom or Bust results – other than to protect you if you get a tax or bankrupt.

In order for your points to go into your bank when you reach 2,000, you must have the “HOLD” option chosen in the Members Only Area. To check what you have set as your preference, log into the Members Only Area and scroll down close to the bottom. There should be a check mark in the box next to “HOLD”. If you have it set to convert to a casino, all of your points will go toward a conversion – up to 2,500 GG Points ($25). After 2,500, any remaining points will then be added to your bank. Make sure that you have deposited and played $50 of your own money in the past 30 days if you are wanting to convert your points to a casino account. If you chose a casino where you have not deposited, the conversion will not be valid and you will not get your points back. You also have to make sure that you have entered and SAVED a VALID casino account number in the appropriate box.

The Bank – If you have points in the bank and your GG Points total goes below 100, the bank will automatically add 50 points to your total. The bank will automatically do this EACH TIME you go below 100 … AND… the bank charges you 5 GG Points each time you make a withdrawal, whether it is automatic or you fill out the withdrawal form.

You are only able to make ONE withdraw on your account in a 24-hour period, and the maximum withdrawal that you can make is 501 GG Points. I made the mistake, my first time around, of thinking I could make as many withdrawals as I wanted as long as it didn’t go over 501 GG Points. My first withdrawal was for 1 GG Point so I could convert, then I was not able to withdraw anything manually until the next day. The bank still gave me points in 50 GG Point increments until I ran out of points, but I would have rather taken more out at once. Learn from my mistake! :o)

Crazy Deals / GetLucky Vouchers – As far as your 1,500 GG Point GetLucky win, I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that it was a “Crazy Deals” GetLucky play that gave you that prize. I don’t have the ability to look at your account, but since we all just received one of those I’m going to go with that scenario and if I’m wrong, let me know and we’ll look into it further.

The “Crazy Deal” GetLucky play is something we get every now and then when John (John runs the GoneGambling site.) is feeling especially generous. The prize you receive on this is conditional – you have to fulfil the Crazy Deal requirements and send proof to John to receive the win. When you play the voucher, you should receive an email shortly after explaining what the Crazy Deal is and what you have to do to receive the prize. This week you were required to deposit and play $30 in any GG sponsored casino where you did NOT already have an account. The account had to be NEW and opened from the GG sponsor page. After you opened a new account through GoneGambling, deposited your money and started playing, you were then required to send proof of deposit to the email address listed in the email and John would give you your prize. In your case it would be 1,500 GG Points ($15 value).

Gaining GG Points – As far as not having any points right now, I’ll give you a few pointers for the best way to build points.

  1. Play Boom or Bust every 30 minutes. Remember, it is your choice whether or not to take insurance – it costs 5 GG Points, but sometimes if you don’t take it, it ends up costing you even more. On the other hand, if you don’t have many points, or are in the negative, if you don’t win anything on Boom or Bust you are still charged the 5 points and you can end up even further in the hole. Boom or Bust is also known as BOB by most members. Sometimes John will go mad and have a 1 or 2 minute Boom or Bust game. This means you can play the game every 1 or 2 minutes for as long as he allows it. He always posts in the Forum to let everyone know just before he has a 1 or 2 minute game.

  1. Play the GG Cup Horse Race every 15 minutes. You automatically get 3 GG Points just for playing, but if you get the 1st place horse correct you win 100 GG Points, 1st and 2nd correct you win 1,000 GG Points and a $100 Mapau account (if you don’t already have an account with them) and if you get the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place correct (extremely difficult – but not impossible) you win 1,500 GG Points and a $250 Slotland account. (Again, only if you do not already have an account with them.) If you get the 1st-4th correct, or more, you start winning CASH! Just look at the GG Cup page for details!

  1. Play all of your GG Free-Lotto tickets each week. Every time you enter your ticket you will get to play a Pop-Up Onion game that could win you GetLucky plays. There isn’t a daily limit to how many GetLucky plays you can win in conjunction with the Free-Lotto.

  1. Play the “off-site” Pop-Up Onion games every day. You are allowed 2 wins in a 24-hour period. Sometimes you win big from the GetLucky vouchers, and sometimes you don’t win anything – but you can’t win if you don’t play! You can look at my site and you will find a lot of Pop-Up Onion games (also known as “dice games” because there used to be dice on the game instead of onions).

  1. Enter the Daily Competition EVERY DAY! You just might win (Feature GetLucky Plays) but even if you don’t win, you get 25 GG Points each day just for entering!

All of these games can be found by clicking on the “GAMES” button on the left side of any GoneGambling web page.

You might also find it helpful to look at the site I built for new members. It explains what casino accounts you can win if you don’t have an account and which ones you can win if you do have an account – and what the requirements are. My site is not endorsed by GoneGambling, it was just something I put together myself. I believe all of the information is accurate, but the GoneGambling site is the last word. You also still need to read all of the rules, and the terms and conditions on the GoneGambling site. My site just gives you an overview to better understand what you can win and where.

I hope this information has helped. If you still have more questions, please email one of the support members from the links above and they will be glad to help! I hope you come to love GoneGambling as much as I do! Again, please let me know if I can help you further! – Brensommer

Unique Casino

A gambler should concentrate on winning rather than loss. The player may loose some time but a gambler should focus on winning whatever the situation may be. Try to have a bankroll large enough so that you can keep yourself in the game. It is always recommended not to be greedy otherwise your casino game playing can be affected. A good strategy to make some money is to stay away after winning even a little money. The allurement of wining more can pave the path of loosing money for you. So leave the game for the day so that you can carry on and be satisfied with the winning amount though that may be a tiny one. In doing this you can stay in profit.

The very important thing is that you should know all rules and regulations before entering into the world of basketball-betting. You should be very Unique Casino conscious about that. Otherwise the terms and conditions may hamper your winning and can cause you a huge charge with any reason that you may not accustomed with while playing. You can not concentrate on any other factor while playing so better to mug up all the rule and regulations so that you may static at your profit. Go through the instructions first so that nobody can make you fool and take the amount of your winnings in terms of rules and regulations.

The bet from your side should be sensible one and that should depend on the affordable bankroll. Never go beyond your limits otherwise you may loose everything in order to win huge money. Your possibility of loosing more will be enhanced if you bet by going beyond your affordability. Better to increase your bets slowly. If you want to bet in a larger way then just grow slowly as far as the bet is concerned otherwise you may be hampered a lot.

Alabama is a southern state located in “the Heart of Dixie”, with a rich history dating back to the Civil War. It is known for its Magnolia trees, lush gardens, grand old historic homes, and southern hospitality. The capital of Alabama is Montgomery, which was the first capital of the Confederacy.

Alabama casinos are for the most part bingo internet casino, which are run by Native Americans. Casinos can only be run on Native American land, since there is no legalized gambling as such in the state of Alabama. The revenue from the Alabama casinos, as a result, is not taxed by the state of Alabama, since Native American tribes own them. The majority of gambling in Alabama can be found at the horse racing tracks and dog races, in addition to a few slot machines, video gambling machines, and pull-tab cards at these locations.

There are very few numbers of casinos found throughout Alabama, there are mainly bingo halls with electronic machines. Yet, you can find horse racing and dog tracks in the area, if pari-mutuel gambling is your preference. The lack of has now turned into a political debate with one candidate asking people to vote for him so he can help raise money within Alabama by establishing casinos. If he is elected he would allow the casinos to expand to full-fledged casinos on the condition that they pay 12% of their gross revenue to the state of Alabama.

Due to the fact that the casinos, at present, are small and offer no taxes to the state; casinos and the revenue they produces would be a welcomed improvement, not only for players but residents as it would create jobs and help with the state’s economy. At present, players are opting to cross the state line into Mississippi instead of visiting the smaller casinos in Alabama. Yet, there are people from Alabama who do not like the idea of turning the state into a tourist’s attraction by allowing online slotsto be established. They claim that the restaurants in the area would actually suffer if casinos brought in their own food outlets and this in turn would have a damaging effect on the industry. Alabama is one of the last lottery hold outs although sites and industry stand poised to take advantage of the

Translation Agencies UK

Pick the fourth one, for instance Your translator must team with an editor.

Translating is NOT a machine job. Your translator can make errors. He may be tired. He may be rushed. He may not get a sentence right.

The editor is here to pick up the pieces. Correct those awkward sentences. Straighten out too loose a style, adjust the terminology.

A good editor will make a world of difference when the translation has been done right, but not 100% right. For you, the difference can be measured in terms of hours of work saved, increased productivity and avoided aggravation.

In other words, this awful mess you were delivered by your translator might have been avoided if you had checked whether the guy would team with an editor of comparable knowledge.

Too simple?

Granted, this is not the only factor of the equation. In fact, the two most powerful factors of differentiation between a good and a bad translation job are:

Does your translator know your business well enough?

Does he/she have a good grasp of grammar?

That’s where Rules #1 and # 2 kick in.

In the absence of specialization, you have NO guarantee that your translator understands your business. A non-specialized translator (or one who believes he can be specialized in 10 disrelated subjects) will ALWAYS require more editing and more correcting than a specialized translator.

On the other hand, you can deal with someone hyper-specialized in your business, who has such average command of grammar in his/her own language that expressing ideas articulately in another language is just out of his/her reach.

So you are faced with a simple Translation Agencies UK modus operandi: check your translator’s background in your business, as well as his/her command of the language.

A tricky selection trick

A few years ago, a friend of mine was looking for a highly paid consultant position with an IT corporation. I witnessed several of the interviews occurring on the phone between himself and CIOs. One technique which was employed by several of his prospective employers consisted in testing his knowledge of programming with very direct questions. “What do you call a xxxxx?”. “If this happens, what do you do?”, “How would you solve this bug?”, and so forth. Obviously, the faster and the more accurate he was in his answers, the higher his chances to land the job.

From this, I derived a very simple test to conduct when considering to hire a translator for a project. Our translations business specializes in law and finance. Translators applying for a position with us represent that they have a solid background in either of these two subject areas. To measure the depth of their knowledge, I Bubbles Translation them to define some technical words.

Tricky, but it works very well for a simple reason: oftentimes, translators assume they know a subject because they looked up several times the translation of a technical term in a translation dictionary. Their knowledge of the word is limited to its translation, not its real definition.

A translation is not a definition

Yet, to understand fully any subject one deals with, one must master its nomenclature ¾ i.e. those terms which belong to the subject. Failing to know what “P/E” (Price/Earnings ratio) really means in a stock exchange context, the translator will miss the significance of any technical discussion around the level of a particular P/E.

To a financial translator applying for a position at our firm, I’ll Bubble Translations, cunningly: “Could you tell me what a P/E is, and what does it measure?”. If the translator just gives me the translation of it, no definition and no explanation of the use of a P/E, I know that his/her education in stock market terminology is flawed. It tells me that the translator will have trouble down the road with any technically complex analysis of a particular stock.

For whom the bells toll

In turn, this will result in an inaccurate translation or even worse, a translation which looks acceptable at first sight, but when closely edited by a knowledgeable specialist, will reveal numerous flaws and require a major rewriting effort.

To get back to the first lines of this article, when such a flawed job lands on your desk, you are in for some aggravation. The job may look good, but a close inspection will turn your hair white prematurely, and sound the death knell of your weekend. After all, you gotta get this document translated, don’t you?

Remember the old saying: “Better safe than sorry”? Well, it is my considerate advice to you to follow the 8 Rules, and find easy ways to test your translator’s knowledge.

Hope you save yourself unnecessary work and trouble.

Diamond Painting

Are you aware of difference between square and round diamond paintings?

Do you know the difference between canvas and picture size?

How to choose the perfect diamond painting kit for you?

If the answer is NO, this blog post is just for you!

When I decided to buy my first diamond painting kit, the only thing I had known was that I wanted to get started with this craft as soon as possible. I liked the picture I saw in diamond painting store, the price was affordable and quick delivery was guaranteed – that was enough for me to make a purchase.

The package arrived in three weeks and I opened it with impatience.

I love flowers, so my first set was „Peony“ full round drill diamond painting kit 30x40cm / 12x16inch with 20 different colors of diamonds (beads) and toolset.

Seven days later, I finished this wonderful floral diamond painting. I show it to my friend and she sad to me: „Oh, it’s wonderful, but I prefer full square drill.“???

There are two types of diamond painting drill: square and round. For the first, you use square shape diamonds (beads), and for the second you use round shape beads. The square beads are 0,25 cm and round beads are 0,28 cm.

“Partial drill” means that part of the printed picture is not covered with the beads.

“Full drill” means full coverage of the printed area (the entire picture is pasting area).

The full square drill looks like a mosaic, so some people use term „diamond mosaic“ for diamond painting. 50% of people who love this craft will always choose this type. Why? They prefer sharp lines, clean picture and the fact that there is no free space between diamonds.

The round drill looks like cross stitch, so some people use term „diamond cross stitch“ for diamond painting. 25% of people who love this craft and cross stitch will always choose this type. Why? They think that this shape is better for smaller picture size: 15x20cm, 20x25cm, 30x30cm, 30x40cm and for smaller details. Round beads are shinier, but there is a free space around the diamonds.

I’m in the remaining 25%. I love both.

When I find the picture I would like to buy, I don’t care if it is square or round drill. I’m sure that I will enjoy creating both. Only important things for me are that I have enough beads and that my finished work will sparkle!

On  Diamond Paintings we can find various size kits. Some products have both shapes (full square/round drill). Carefully choose (1) the canvas size and then (2) the shape you would like to buy. The most of  kits are the full drill (90%), but  Diamond Paintings also offer partial drill diamond painting kits. I prefer only full drill diamond painting kits.

Why, when dealers leave the blackjack table, do they always clap their hands? Chris A.

Casino mythology holds that there is a touch of larceny in all dealers. We clap (clear) our hands to prove we are not pilfering chips. Even now, years after my dealing gig, I am still haunted by the suspicion of theft. Every time I pick up an item in a store and put it back, I still “clear” my hands to show I am not shoplifting.

The same holds true for those idiotic aprons management makes the dealers wear. Casino operators do not give one iota about us wearing out our pants, no; they just want to make it tougher for us to steal a $25 chip off the game.

The bottom line, Chris, is that I believe 99% of casino employees are honest, hardworking individuals, and I’m sticking to that story.

Dear Mark,

If I win at nickel slots, should I then move up to quarters, win there, then proceed to dollars? Sally R.

At first glance, a natural progression to a higher limit seems appropriate, but only you know for sure if you should experiment with higher denominations. Most players have a favorite level that they are comfortable with within their gaming budget. Understood, betting more means winning more, but along with that comes greater risks. You can lose five times as much money on quarters, and twenty times as much on dollars, and all in the same amount of time.

Your need for greed, Sally, proportionate to your working capital, will determine if you should be bumping up to a new caste of gamblers.

Dear Mark,

Don’t you think that most players go to a casino to lose, and not win? Jackie G.

How correct you are, Jackie. The psychology of most Sbobet players is downright disheartening. When I worked in a casino, they all said the same thing, “I brought $100 to lose, and that’s when I’ll quit.” I rarely heard, “I’ve got $100 dollars here and with it I’m going to win.” You are casino fodder before you ever get started with that losing approach.

By the way, Jackie, my favorite line I heard from those same losing players was “I’ll be back!”

Dear Mark,

Is there a best time of the day to play blackjack? Grant H.

Absolutely, Grant. Because winning at blackjack depends on using cerebral matter – Poirot’s “little gray cells” – play only when you are fresh and alert, not tired or mentally spent.

Dear Mark,

How often do casinošs switch their dice, and how can you tell they were once used on a game? Gary A.

Generally after an eight-hour shift, dice are taken from a game and retired. On the die you will find a retiring mark that indicates the dice has served its master well, and can be purchased from the casino gift shop, or can be had for free from a philanthropic pit boss. The typical retiring mark is a 1/4″ circle stamped usually into the four spot side of a dice and deep enough into the plastic to make removal nearly impossible.

A prolific and physically powerful center forward, Christian Vieri boasts an accurate left foot and a distinguished fighting spirit. After six seasons rich in goals and somewhat poor in trophies, Bobo Vieri hopes to return to the winning ways at Milan, but he cannot be sure of a starting spot. Ahead of him are Shevchenko and Gilardino, for starters…

Christian Vieri has won himself a label of a footballing nomad. Before joining Inter in 1999, he had played in eight teams in as many seasons; Internazionale were his ninth side, having signed him from Lazio for $ 45 million. He promised then that it was the end to his migrations. – “You can rest assured, I intend to stay black-and-blue for the rest of my life. I am fed up with moving. After having travelled half of the world, plan to stick in Milan for a long time.”

In fact, he has kept a part of the promise. After six seasons, 122 goals in all competitions, a nasty string of injuries, scandals and scuffles with the fans, he has stayed in the city and at the same stadium. Just, on the other side of the street and a slightly different striped shirt, that of AC Milan.

Never in the history has such a big Inter player, a team symbol, crossed the fence to AC Milan so quickly. The big guy had his contract with Inter terminated on July st, only to be presented five days later as a Milan’s reinforcement. Tottenham had been fancied to employ the controversial forwards, and Milan was not even rumoured about. It is true that the two Lombardian giants work closely and some players have switched sides by mutual accord. Still, the turnaround staged by Vieri and Milan had not been recorded, ever.

While Inter’s crypto gambling fans are making up slogans and chants dedicated to Vieri as we speak, Inter’s boardroom was not terribly upset by the player’s transfer to the red-and-black half of the city. Vieri’s former friend, coach Roberto Mancini, was in favour of his departure, and the owner, Massimo Moratti, also favoured the move. After all, Vieri’s paycheck for the seventh and the last year of contract would have amounted to an incredible € 26 million, including taxes. Inter saved themselves a lot of money and, supposedly, just as much dressing room trouble, knowing Vieri’s temperament.

The 32-year old centravanti now hopes to return to the national team, which he served well whenever he was fit, but for now he faces the status of the third choice striker, behind Andriy Shevchenko and Alberto Gilardino. At least, there is no doubt as to who will be the target of Inter’s fans’ boos and rhymes at the next Milan derby.…

The ongoing debate about the role of governments in regulating digital currencies isn’t going away anytime soon. While the dustup over New York’s BitLicense program continues, another front has opened up in California where a member of the state assembly has introduced a bill to regulate California’s digital currencies businesses.

The Washington, D.C.-based Coin Center and the San Francisco-based Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) each have lobbied hard against the New York Department of Financial Services attempts to regulate New York businesses with its controversial BitLicense program.

But with the proposed California law, the two organizations have taken two separate forks in the advocacy road, with Coin Center supporting the California legislation and EFF adamantly opposed. Learn more about SKYBLOCK COINS STORE

Coin Center supports while EFF opposes proposed California law

Coin Center is now supporting the proposed California legislation, saying it is the best possible compromise under the circumstances and would prevent a worse law – the current money transmission law – from being the default in regulating bitcoin.

Peter Van Valkenburgh, director of research at Coin Center, told Bitcoin Magazinethe proposed California law is a “model for sound regulation in this sector,” not as flawed as the New York BitLicense regulations, and is much better than the status quo.

“A Bitcoin company that actually holds all of the private keys for some user is acting just like a bank or a money transmitter. It’s very difficult to convince politicians that between two companies with very similar risk profiles, one that holds peoples bitcoins and one that holds their fiat, the Bitcoin business should get special treatment,” he said.

“[T]he losses suffered by customers of Mt. Gox and other failed exchanges provide all the rationale they need to treat bitcoin custodians exactly as they would treat the legacy industry,” Van Valkenburgh said. “So what we’re left with, the sensible strategy, is to make sure that non-custodial and highly innovative uses of the technology, like multi-sig, sidechains, the lightning network, are exempted.”

The proposed law would require digital currencies businesses to obtain a license from the California Department of Business Oversight (DBO).

“Everybody — even Coin Center — acknowledges that this bill has serious flaws,” EFF Activism Director Rainey Reitman told Bitcoin Magazine. “But the biggest problems aren’t for large, established Bitcoin companies like those backing Coin Center. Many of those aren’t affected by this bill, either because they already qualify for a license exception or they have the resources to overcome the regulatory hurdles.”

What happens now?

The proposed legislation has passed through the California Assembly (although the vote was split), and through the Senate Banking and Financial Institutions Committee, and is due to be voted on in the California Senate in the near future.

Meanwhile, Coin Center will work to educate people on how the law will work.

“Coin Center has been transparent from the start when it comes to bill AB 1326,” Van Valkenburgh said. “While the bill began its life unfriendly to Bitcoin and blockchain innovation, it has evolved into a model for sound regulation in this sector, even if it can still be improved.”

EFF will be fighting the proposed bill through its online activism campaign.

Reitman noted the possible repercussions of this law.

“I don’t think this will stop in California. If this bill passes, I suspect it will be replicated in future states, with potentially worse provisions. That’s why this battle is so important,” she said. “Our mission is clear and we will continue to work on behalf of Bitcoin startups, innovators, and users of future virtual currency technologies that may never exist if this law is passed. EFF has to argue for the wider public interest.”
